Robert Ervin Westbrook, age 81, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2013. He was born March 6, 1932 in Huff, Arkansas to the late Cleo MacAdams Runyan and Clovis Westbrook. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served with the 26th Regiment Military Police 2nd Brigade Combat Team 1st Infantry Division in the American Zone of Occupation at the start of the Cold War from June 1948 to June 1950. Mr. Westbrook was a Master Mason and Pastmaster of Benton Lodge #34 F&A.M and Congo Lodge #743, he also served as the District Deputy Grandmaster of the 12th Masonic District of Arkansas and in that capacity traveled to numerous lodges in his area of responsibility. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Royal Arch & York Rite. Mr. Westbrook was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a Master Electrician having worked 17 years for Alcoa and 30 years for First Electric. Mr. Westbrook was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 60 years, Pearl C. Westbrook; two brothers, James and Dean Westbrook; two sisters, Loueva Williams and LaVerne Decker and an infant grandson, Rowan Phillip Boozer. He is survived by his son, Robert C. Westbrook of Silverdale, Washington; three daughters, Janet Boozer and husband Larry of Bigelow, Janice Thompson and husband Glenn of Bauxite and Brenda Westbrook of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 11 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 2 p.m. followed by Military and Masonic Honors.
