Michael Brooks Griffin, 60, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Michael was born January 2, 1953 at Helena to Frank Griffin Jr. and the late Christine Wiekel Griffin. He was a graduate of Central High School and received an Associates of Arts degree from Phillips County Community College. He was a farmer, a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a member of the Sandy Bayou Hunting Club. Michael is survived by his wife, Sharon Von Kanel Griffin of Helena; one daughter, Lauren Michael Griffin of Little Rock; father, Frank Griffin, Jr. and his wife Lu of Helena; two sisters, Ann Griffin of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Michelle Griffin Darling of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, Frank Griffin III of North Porte, Alabama; two step-sisters, Cindy Johnston of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Debbie Rose of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; one step-brother, Steve Johnston of Ponca, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for Michael Brooks Griffin will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Helena. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena. Father Russ Snapp will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Cliff Clark, Roger Patterson, Lyle Wheeler, Charles Hudson, Jim Sims, Jack McCarty, Lawson Hornor, and Tracy Griffin. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Von Kanel, Buron Griffin Jr., David Brooks Griffin, Dan Adams, and Bob Sims.
