Mayor William Wayne "Billy" Gorman, age 75, of Hermitage, Ark. died Saturday, Sept. 14 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark. He was born July 9, 1938 in Hermitage, Ark., a son of the late William Mitchell Gorman and Madge Edney Gorman. He worked for F & S Pre-Stress Concrete in Hampton for 25 years, owned and operated Bill's Logging and for the last two terms he loved being mayor of the City of Hermitage, Ark. He served on many boards as a member of the Hermitage United Methodist Church in Hermitage. He was a member of the Bradley County Medical Center foundation board, a member of the municipal league of Arkansas, a member of the Lions Club, served on the Bradley County Economic Development Corporation board and was a member of the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce. Preceding him in death was his wife, Monwalah Jarvis Gorman, whom he married July 8, 1960 and she passed away Sept. 18, 2005. Also preceding him in death was a brother, William Mitchell Gorman and two sisters, Sharon Pruitt and Elizabeth Gorman. Survivors include a son, David Gorman and spouse Regina, Monticello, Ark.; two daughters, Mona Reep and spouse Marty, Warren, Ark., and Angelia Kidwell and spouse John, Hermitage, Ark.; a sister, Dorothy Glover and spouse Reginald, Monticello, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Brandon Gorman and spouse Stacey, Haley Wagnon and spouse Kyle, Whitney Gorman, Ashley Reep, Trey Kidwell, Emily Kidwell and Joseph Kidwell. Two great-grandchildren Grayson Gorman and Cooper Wagnon and a special friend Nina Harrod, Hermitage, Ark. Funeral service's are 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Frazer's Chapel. Burial in Williams Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at Frazer's. Memorials preferred to the Hermitage United Methodist Church.
