Dorcas Nadine Blocker

Dorcas Nadine Blocker, 88 of Hot Springs Village passed away September 17, 2013. She was born February 13, 1925 in Cold Springs, Oklahoma to Peter Alton Meekins and Melinda (Clark) Meekins. Nadine began her career with the Air Force Civil Service but the job she was most proud of was wife and mother. She was kind, generous and beautiful inside and out. Nadine was adventurous and enjoyed travel. She was a faithful member of Barcelona Road Baptist Church and loved her church family. Nadine was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Ethel, Ruby, Mary and Mabel; and brother Alton "Buddy". Nadine is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Blocker of Hot Springs Village; sons, Robert Blocker III and wife Carrie of Rowlett, Texas and Kevin Blocker of Hot Springs Village; and grandsons, Christopher Blocker and Gerald Alton Blocker of Rowlett. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Caruth Village Funeral Home. A private funeral service for family and close friends will be 10 a.m. Monday at Barcelona Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Barcelona Road Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Barcelona Road Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
