He is survived by two daughters, LaTonya (Theo) Smith, Michele Petty; three sons, Frederick (Moki) Petty, Robert (Raclyn) Petty IV, Tony Petty; two sisters, Marsha (Larry) Burel, Doris (James) Whitlow; one brother, Johnathan (Delford) Buckner; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
