Johnny "Umps" Hart, of Carlisle, was born Dec. 24, 1942 to Jess and Ethel Hart of Lonoke, Ark. and he went to be with his Lord on April 16, 2014. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by two sons, Chris and Brad Hart of Carlisle; three grandsons, John Robert, Christopher, and Cory Hart of Carlisle; two brothers, Joe Dan Hart of McCrory and Pinky Hart of Fayetteville; the mother of his children, Sandra Hart of Carlisle; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Buddy". Johnny was owner of Hart's Liquor, Inc. in Hazen since 1975. His joy in life was watching his grandsons participate in all Carlisle athletic events. During his retired years, he took pride in maintaining the football and baseball fields for Carlisle High School. Johnny was an avid hunter, passing his love of duck hunting to his sons and grandsons. He was a charter member of the Dirty Dozen Hunting Club. The family wants to give a special thank you to Chambers Nursing Home, V.A. Hospital MICU unit, especially to Jeremy. Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Burial will be at the Carlisle Cemetery in Carlisle, Ark. The family requests memorials be made to the Carlisle High School Athletic Dept. or the Carlisle First United Methodist Church.
