Abie Gerald "Jerry" Dixon

Abie Gerald "Jerry" Dixon, age 74, of Crossett, Ark. passed away on April 22, 2014 at UAMS in Little Rock, Ark. He was born on June 8, 1939 in Crossett, Ark. to his parents, Palmer Carl and Katherine Stratton Dixon. Mr. Dixon had served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Millwright for Georgia Pacific. He was an avid fisherman. Jerry enjoyed gardening, reading and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks. Mr. Dixon was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, Palmer Carl Dixon. Survivors include his wife, Doris Strahan Dixon of Crossett, Ark.; one son, Gerald Palmer Dixon of Crossett, Ark.; one daughter, Lisa Dixon Whitlock of Farmerville, La.; his mother, Katherine Stratton Dixon of Crossett, Ark.; one brother, Bill Dixon of Crossett, Ark.; one sister, Mary Whitworth of Benton, Ark. and two grandchildren, Casey Dixon and Cristine Dixon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lyle Hern officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be held on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.
