Felix Russell Owens of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 9, 1949 in Grapevine, Arkansas, the son of the late Booth Hunter Owens and Lizzie Dee Wyles Owens. He was a 1967 graduate of Grapevine High School, had served in the Army National Guard, and had retired from International Paper Company as shift foreman. He was of the Assembly of God faith having been raised in the Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church in Grapevine. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and was a member of R.A.D Hunting Club at Grapevine and President of W & W Hunting Club at Carthage. He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them and his precious grandchildren. Russell died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Joanie Morehead Owens; sons, Kevin Owens, Marty Owens, Brent Hunter and Bodie Hunter; sister, Patsy and husband Wayne Buchanan all of Sheridan; three grandchildren, Corbin Lane Hunter, Lauren Elizabeth Hunter and Alivia Paige Hunter; mother-in-law, Dorothy Morehead of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Barbara and husband Mark Campbell of Hot Springs; nephews, Dennis and wife Teresa Buchanan, Tony Buchanan; niece, Tina and husband Ryan Woodard , his faithful dog, Ozzie and a host of aunts, uncles, cousin, great nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at New Life Fellowship Church in Sheridan with Bro. Steve Cypert officiating. Burial will follow at Hedden Chapel Cemetery at Grapevine. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jason McAnally, Freddy Magnini, David Gartman, Wayne Gaiser, Tim Williamson and Jimmy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are members of the R.A.D. Hunting Club and the W & W Hunting Club. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
