Margery Lee Cotton Irvin of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 27, 1921 in Kinta, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Henry Frank and Edith Coker Cotton. She was a 1939 graduate of Harrison High School, a 1942 graduate of Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri and a registered nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a talented artist and painted with a group of special painting buddies. She loved being with her grandchildren, taking pictures, working in her yard, traveling, and spending time at her lakehouse at Lake DeGray. Mrs. Irvin died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her home at the age of 92. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack M. Irvin, her daughter, Dianna Irvin Jankey and her brothers, Hugh and George Cotton. Survivors, daughter, Jackie Campbell of Jacksonville; son, Robert (Debra) Irvin of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Carol Campbell of Sheridan; Christie (Dean) Halijan of Sherwood; Jack Campbell of Sheridan; three great grandchildren, Aerin, Jesslynne, and Kalon Campbell of Sheridan; caregiver, Shari Adams of Sheridan; loving dog, Sophie and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 until service time. Pallbearers will be Keith Adams, Butch Campbell, Steve Murphy, Eddie Hicks, Jeff Hicks and William Hicks. Honorary pallbearer will be Tom Waller. Memorials may be made to Grant County Museum, 521 Shackleford, Sheridan, Ark. 72150.
