Charles Thomas Cuthbertson

Charles Thomas (Chuck, Chuckie, Chuck-Chuck) Cuthbertson, age 60, of the SEARK Human Development Center, Warren, Ark. died January 20, 2014. He was born to the late James and Kathleen Cuthbertson September 20, 1953. Born with Down's syndrome and other developmental issues, doctors projected a short life span. Chuck died at 60 years of age and until the last 15 months was an active person. Much of his longevity can be credited to the Arkansas Human Development Centers for the outstanding care, training and love he received. Always a favorite by the staff, he lived at the Conway HDC, Arkadelphia HDC and finally at the Warren HDC. His parents were tireless workers in developing services for special needs children. Chuck loved rock 'n roll music, especially Jerry Lee Lewis; arranging his army men just so and then knocking them down with a smile; riding in fast cars; and his snacks of coke and cookie. He could manipulate his brothers for extra coke and cookie without them realizing it. His favorite meal was dessert and whether it be "piece of pie" or "peach pie", he was ready to eat. As a youngster he could rough house with his brothers and as an older man, young children delighted in playing around him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Cuthbertson. He is survived by two brothers, John and spouse, Gingy; Robert and spouse, Denise of Warren and one sister, Carolyn Sanford and spouse, Chuck Carlin, of Northfield, Minn.; nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended family of the SEARK Human Development Center. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday January 22, at Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Judy Adams, SEARK HDC, Employee Relations Committee, 1 Center Circle, Warren, Ark. 71671. Online guest register www.frazerfuneralhome.com.
