Alvena Gramlich McDonald

Alvena Gramlich McDonald, 94, of Charleston, Ark., passed away, Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Charleston. She was born August 23, 1919 in Vesta, Ark. to Rudolph Gramlich and Christine Smith Gramlich. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, The Mother's Society, Catholic Women's Union; Vesta EH Club, Charleston Garden Club and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville McDonald, two sisters and one brother. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 25th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening at Smith Mortuary with visitation to follow. She is survived by one daughter Ginger Abernathy and husband Jim, two sons Jerry McDonald and wife Judy and William and wife Donna, Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kevin Verkamp, Charles Miesner, Robert Rogers, Guido Arrayro, Paul Carr and Garret Widder.
