Dennis Heffington, Sr.

Dennis Heffington Sr., 62, of Mabelvale, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014. He was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on January 2, 1952, to the late Avery D. Heffington and Blanche Hensley DeVault. Dennis was preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda Heffington and Linda VanWinkle. Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Heffington; his son, Dennis, Jr. (Trista); four grandchildren, Baileigh, Colton and Victoria Heffington, and Justyn Plummer; his sister, Sharron (William); brothers, David (Ann) and Aaron (Sharon); and various other family and friends. Dennis worked as an Ironworker for Local 321 for many years. He retired as a general maintenance contractor in 2008, was a lifetime member of the NRA, Aircraft owners and Pilot's Association, and a certified scuba instructor. He was an avid reader, enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting and golfing with his son, spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife. Other than his family, one of his biggest achievements was receiving his pilot's license and flying solo. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116 (501-791-7400). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Kessinger officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery, Alexander, Arkansas.
