Alice Marie Ridgell

Alice Marie Ridgell, 95, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in Bryant. She was born February 6, 1919, in Prescott, Arkansas, to H. Thurston and Dovie Wingfield Stuart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Barham Ridgell; a brother, two sisters, a son-in-law, and a great-grandson. She was retired from K-Mart, and was a faithful and active member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant for many years. Survivors include daughters, Mary Stanton (Ted) and Sandra Kay Sipes (Mike) of Alexander; a son, Bobby Ridgell (Ann) of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one sister, Ruby Fontaine (Tom) of Prescott; grandchildren, Mark Stanton, Alisa Stanton, Scott Shearer (Christy), Kevin Ridgell, Eric Stanton (Kristi), Krista Crenshaw (Bruce), Michael Shearer, and Melissa Halley (Baker); step-grandchdren Lynn Melikian, Karen Sipes, and Michael Robert Sipes (Katherine); 14 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, with Bruce Crenshaw, Baker Halley, Michael Shearer, Scott Shearer, Michael Robert Sipes and Aaron Young serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Stanton, Eric Stanton and Kevin Ridgell. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
