Charles Eugene Jolly Jr.

CHARLES EUGENE JOLLY JR., 84, died on June 13, 2014. Mr. Jolly, the son of the late Charles E. Jolly and Ruth Pierson Jolly, was born on May 13, 1930. He graduated with distinction from Emory University in 1952. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Jolly was employed by Buckeye Cotton Oil Company and, later, Archer Daniels Midland Corporation for 41 years. He was a long-time member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. Second only to his deep love for his family was his love of baseball. From Little League to the Major Leagues, he followed it all. Mr. Jolly is survived by his wife, LuRene Hall Jolly; daughter, Katharine L. (Kathy) Jolly and her husband, Edward Shoup of Rose Bud; son, Charles B. (Chip) and his wife, Carol, of North Little Rock. Also surviving are grandchildren, Brandon Jackson, Mitchell Jackson and his wife, Marlo, Robin Jolly; and three great-grandchildren, all of North Little Rock. He is also survived by a brother, James P. Jolly and his wife, Joyce of Woodbridge, Va., and his children. Visitation will be on June 16, 2014 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital, Camp Aldersgate, or a charity of your choice.
