Connie Maxine Landers Hook passed away in her home on June 14, 2014 with her family at her side. Connie was born October 7, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Mack & Alliene Peacock Landers, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gerald; sons, Justin & Susie Hook of Bryant, Ark. and Jonathan & Kara Hook of Lenexa, Kan.; grandchildren Coleman and Celia Hook of Lenexa, Kan.; brothers Philip & Stephanie Landers of Euless, Texas and Tim & Jeri Landers of Euless, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews in Texas. Connie was a voracious reader, L.D. Bell High School (Hurst, Texas) newspaper editor and National Honors graduate (1964). She stayed home to rear her boys and later worked as a classroom aide at the boy's elementary school. She solved crossword puzzles in ink, was a great speller and possessed a vast knowledge enabling her to excel at Jeopardy every afternoon. Connie enjoyed history; Christmas was her favorite holiday and she was always eager to take another train trip with her husband. Visitation will be at Humphrey Funeral Home on Friday, June 20th from 5 to 7 p.m. Her memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle on Saturday, June 21st at 11 a.m., Reverends Jim Benfer and Tim Lawson presiding.
