Maxine C. Jones

Maxine C. "Meme" Jones, age 89, of Aplin, Arkansas, passed away, Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was born September 21, 1924, in Aplin, Arkansas, a daughter of Earnest Lee Clayton and Norma Levey Montgomery Clayton. She was loved by everyone and a member of both the Aplin Church of Christ and Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by a son, Dr. Woody Jones, Jr. of Russellville; a daughter, Linda Golden of Aplin; brother, E.L. Clayton of Camden Point, Missouri; sister, JoAnn Taylor of Aplin; three grandchildren, Shana Purchase of Little Rock, Chip Jones of Memphis, Tennessee and Graham Jones of Russellville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Carolyn Jones and her husband, Charles W. Jones Sr. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Aplin Church of Christ with Mr. Charles Smith and Mr. Chuck Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Smyer's Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday, at the Perryville funeral home.
