ROBERT HENRY BURCH left this world on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 to be with his bride of 60 years, Barbara Sue Burch, in Heaven. Robert was born on Sept. 14, 1928 to William Robert Burch and Gussie Mae Dyson. He is survived by his three daughters, Sheila Allison (Granger), Karen Gentry (Steve), and Susan Cross (Donald); eight grandchildren, Shane Allison, Jeff Allison Sr., April Ammons, Cathie Tillery, Ashley Lawson, Christopher Cross, Justin Cross, and Sarah Cross; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alma Dennis of Flint Mich.; and Madge Carter of Little Rock, Ark.; and a very special sister-in-law Versie Burch and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Robert was a long time member of the National Asbestos Workers Union local 10 and served as president for many years. He was the oldest living member prior to his death of the Redfield Masonic Lodge having served 59 years. He was petitioned in 1955 and raised to Master in 1958. He was an active member of his community and served as the director of the Woodson Cemetery, and was a member of the Woodson Baptist Church. He will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Woodson Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 6-8 on Wednesday at the Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home Burial will be held at Woodson cemetery. Online obituary and guest register www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
