Betty Selman

Ms. Betty Selman of Springdale, Ark., made her transition on Oct. 21, 2014 following a fall at home. Formerly of Paris, Ark. Ms. Selman is survived by three children: Steve Hull, Becky Thompson, and Nancy Bostian, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Her teenaged years inspired a novel written by noted Arkansas author, Francis Gwaltney. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1948, and belonged to Delta Delta Delta sorority. Betty was proud to be a military wife, and loved living and traveling all over the world. She was a member of the Arkansas Committee of 100, PEO, and co-founded the TTT Society in Paris. Ms. Selman was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and John Guion and husbands, Jim Hull and Charles Selman. She was a deeply spiritual person whose compassion, love, and guidance will be missed by everyone who knew her. Celebrations of Life will be held at the 1st United Methodist Church of Springdale on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. and at the home of Beth and Mickey Butler, of New Blaine, Ark. at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 25. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
