Betty Jean Blue, beloved wife and mother, went to her eternal reward after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Betty was born January 4, 1939 at home in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to Allen Canon and Martha Taylor Canon. On August 18, 1956, she married the love of her life, Artie Lee Blue Jr. and shared 58 wonderful years together. They were members of Lifeline Baptist church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Betty's greatest source of happiness was her family and the many memories they shared together. She leaves behind her husband, Artie; three children, Randy (Susan) Blue, Monte (Gibi) Blue and Rebecca (Carter) and Massey; grandchildren, Brittney, Brandon, Brady, Dillon, Cody, Allison and Wesley. Although her family grieves, the sting of that grief is greatly lessened in knowing she resides in Heaven as promised by Jesus in the book of John, Chapter 14. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be given to the Gentiva Hospice Foundation in memory of Betty Blue; gentivahospicefoundation.org. A Graveside Service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Ark. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 1 p.m. Services will be officiated by Reverend Gene Davis.
