Timothy "Tim" James Fitzgerald

Timothy "Tim" James Fitzgerald, 61, of Bauxite, Arkansas, died after a long illness on September 15, 2014. Born on February 13, 1953 in Ithaca, New York, to Frances Humm Fitzgerald of Little Rock and the late John James Fitzgerald. Tim is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Doris Jean Hobbs Fitzgerald; his son, James Lucas Fitzgerald; his daughter, Lydia Ann Fitzgerald; his grandson, Nicholas Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Mary Frances Ugarte, Mary Beth Eisenhard and Virginia; Matthew Fitzgerald, Mary Kay Fitzgerald, Chris Fitzgerald and John Fitzgerald; their families and many friends. Tim graduated from Catholic High School in 1971 and enjoyed many years in the kitchens of Captains Nine, Morrison's Cafeteria, Batesville and Jonesboro Country Clubs, Catholic Neuman Center at ASU, Andover Place and Arkansas Department of Correction. His greatest joy came from the meals he would prepare for the people that later became known as family; be it four or 400, everyone felt like they were eating a 4-Star Meal. Chicken barbeques (Upstate New York-style), Stuffed Pork Loin, Lamb Chops and elaborately planned gourmet meals were always on the menu that he enjoyed sharing with all. In his younger years Tim enjoyed sailing on Lake Maumelle; an avid reader, he spent many hours with a book in hand whether researching recipes or simply keeping up with the latest best-seller. Photography was yet another hobby, taking a special interest in Catholic High's football games. Visitation and Rosary will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home in Little Rock, on Friday, September 19, 2014. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church, also in Little Rock, followed by his burial at Little Italy Cemetery in Little Italy, Arkansas.
