Herbert T. Martin, Jr., passed away from this life on March 28, 2015. He was a partner in Twin City Transportation in Little Rock. He was born on September 14, 1952 in Pulaski County to Mary Ward and Herbert T. Martin. He married his first wife, Prudence Martin and had a son, Bradley Martin and a daughter, Jill Martin, who reside in Pulaski County. He later married his second wife, Karen Martin and had two step-sons, Matthew Burden (Shelby) and Andrew Burden (Kelli); and step-daughter, Lindsey Burden who are all deeply saddened by his passing. Most of his life was spent in the transportation industry, working for UPS as a Manager of the Jonesboro division for several years. As a visionary, Herbert became a partner with two other gentlemen in DSI Transportation Company that was sold to ABF. He was a partner in Twin City Transportation in Little Rock. Together with his wife, Karen, they moved to North Little Rock and founded Faulkner Lake Orchard. He enjoyed the transportation business all of his life, but his passion was growing fruits and vegetables. This passion enabled Herb to share his love and ability with many wonderful customers that became friends. He is survived by five wonderful grandchildren, Marshall, Madison, Myles, Jaden and Payten Burden; sisters, Sandra Chaves (Carolos) and Suzanne; as well as brothers, Herchel (Fran) and Herman (Sherry). Herb loved life and was grateful for every day spent sharing time with family and friends. He and his wife are especially grateful for the care he received at UAMS, from both the doctors and nurses in the intensive care and stepdown unit, particularly F4. He will be missed by so many family and friends but for those that worked with him, we will carry the memory of him coming in singing "Oh, what a beautiful morning!" A memorial service will be held for Herb at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Faulkner Lake Orchard. Memorials can be made to the Central Baptist Church food pantry in North Little Rock or building fund at Grace Baptist Church in Scott. Online obituary and guest book at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
