Amon Wood

Amon Wood, 99, of Bee Branch, Ark., passed away April 25, 2015. He was born Oct. 3, 1915 at Morganton, Ark. to Richard and Allie (Pennington) Wood. Amon was a lifelong farmer and Dairy operator. He was active in the community Amon served as Deacon of Mount Zion General Baptist Church for 69 years. He also served on the original board of Formosa Youth Camp and on the South Side School Board. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel (Linn) Wood; brothers, Elis, Arvil and Beacher Wood; sisters, Avis Thomason, Velma Davis and Cuma Nell Welch. He is survived by sons, Bob (Judy) Wood of Fayetteville, Ed Wood (Shirley) Wood of Bee Branch; grandchildren, Tamara (Johnny) Roberts, Todd (Jane Ellen) Wood, Jared (Dr. Jeneen) Wood, Dr Clint Wood; two sisters, Ann Chesser and Retha Jenning; great-grandchildren, Connor, Blakely Roberts, Peyton, Claire, Caroline and Mason Wood, Parker and Kingsley Grace Wood. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Mount Zion General Baptist Church, Morganton, Ark. with Visitation at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 with Rev. Jim French and Rev. Dan Payne officiating. Burial will be at Hardin Cemetery In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mount Zion General Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon's International.
