Our mother, JoAnne Tuck (Stanberry) Compton, peacefully passed from this life on August 13, 2015. Mom was born on June 10, 1930, in Fayetteville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Tuck Sr. and Josephine Tuck; her brother, Herman Tuck Jr. and her husband of 22 years, William "Bill" Compton. She is survived by her five children with Ernest Stanberry; Sandra Stanberry Wommack, son, Michael Wommack and wife Angela; Carin Stanberry Evans, daughter, Linda Mars and husband Cody, son, Lee Evans and wife Kristin; Ernest "Scott" Stanberry and wife Shaun, son Dylan Cisneros and daughter, Cassidy Cisneros; Nancy Stanberry Keen and husband Randy, sons Russell and Patrick; Stan Stanberry and wife Shanon, daughters, Arden Bolak and husband Jason, Evan Hartman and husband Collin, Jenae McCrossen and husband Sean, Alex Perez, and sons Ryan and Ashton. And her 12 wonderful great-grandchildren. Her husband Bill's children, Judy Compton Smith, Carol Compton Lancaster, Larry Compton and their families. One of Mom's favorite activities was dancing. It always brought her great joy. And if she was having a good time, chances are you were too. She would always be the first and last person on the dance floor, knew all the steps and could have taught classes on them. Mom was an avid camper and fisherman her entire life, always loaded and ready when the moment struck for any outdoor adventure. She made sure all of her kids shared in a love of the outdoors. Mom moved to Dallas in 1976 but her heart belonged to Northwest Arkansas and she returned in 1985. She was blessed with rekindling a school friendship with William "Bill" Compton. They married in 1990 and spent the next 22 years holding hearts and hands. She and Bill spent a lot of time out on the water, camping, fishing, watching and "Calling The Hogs" and shared a love of music. Mom used her infinite creativity to turn Bill's sweet tooth into a business now known as Swalty Kernel Kettlecorn and her legacy thrives to this day. Our Mother was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother. Mom always made time for everyone. She was loved by all. She was without a doubt the Best Mom in the World. We love you, Mom! Caregivers are the unsung heroes of the elderly and others in need. Mother resided at Katherine's Place and we thank the aides and nurses for the loving care given to our Mom. We pay a special tribute to Pam Kaney. The loving care she provided for years cannot be measured and was invaluable to Mother's quality of life which added to ours. No thanks can be big enough, we love you! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to The Alzheimer's Research Foundation or Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation.
