Jerry George Netzel

Jerry George Netzel, 96 year old resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died December 6, 2015 at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born November 5, 1919 in Poland, he was the son of Theodore and Charlotte Netzel. Jerry married Marie Grabowska on January 17, 1947 in Germany. He worked as a manager of shipping and receiving for Continental Canning Company for 32 years. He moved to Gentry from Chicago, Illinois in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Netzel. He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home; six children: Edward Netzel and wife Lynn of Gallatin, Tennessee, Gene Netzel and wife Gail of Algonquin, Illinois, Henry Netzel and wife Linda of Lockport, Illinois, Robert Netzel and wife Betty Sue of Hinsdale, Illinois, Raymond Netzel and wife Teresa of Gentry, and Christine Riggins and husband Darin of Springdale, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren: Mark Netzel and wife Bethany, Tim Netzel and wife Lindsey, Jamie Zacharski and husband Phil, Lora Weygandt and husband Travis, Aaron Netzel, Jordan Netzel and wife Michelle, Brittney Limone and husband Cody, Brooke Netzel, Bailey Riggins, Rachel Netzel, Lane Riggins, Paige Netzel, Carley Riggins, and Ramsey Riggins; and five great-grandchildren: Zachariah Weygandt, Liam Netzel, Jedediah Weygandt, Nicodemus Weygandt, and Desleigh Netzel. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor Glenn Hill and Pastor Tony Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
