Brawner Townsend Mosley Sr.

Brawner Townsend Mosley Sr. (Towny), age 82, of Springdale, AR., formerly of Camden, died December 7, 20015. He was born November 21, 1933 in Cornerstone, AR. To Wiley W. Sr. and Lucille Townsend Mosley. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wiley W. Mosley Jr. (Bill) and his wife Mary Pearl Harbuck Mosley and two nephews Bill and Mark Mosley. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay of Springdale, son, Townsend Mosley Jr. and wife Phyllis of Sheridan, Ark., daughter, Kathy Mosley Foster and husband Robert of Springdale, Ark.; grandchildren: Jennifer Banfield and husband Jeremiah, Stan Mosley and wife Courtney, Chase Foster and wife Sarah, and Kristen Weigand and husband Matthew and two great-grandchildren. Townsend loved and was devoted to his family. He was an avid researcher of the Civil War. He was very interested in his hometown of Camden. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Camden and was a scout leader of Troop 6 for many years. He was a past president of the Ouachita County Historical Society and a member of the Evening Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Paratrooper. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery.
