Leslie Warr, 59, of Jonesboro, was born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas on April 23, 1956 to the late Harold Warr and Mary Cary Norman. He departed this life on December 11, 2015. While living in Hunter, Arkansas he played a large role in the town obtaining grants for the construction of the community's first Volunteer Fire Department & obtaining all of the equipment where he served as Hunter's first Fire Chief. Leslie taught Automotive Technology for 38 years and was currently employed at the Career and Technology Center of Jonesboro High School and planned to retire May 2016. He was a 32 Degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge and was the only person in the state that had the credentials to evaluate and certify other vocational education programs for the state. His passions in life were teaching, being a mechanic, helping others, hunting, and fishing. Leslie is survived by his wife, Nell Warr of Jonesboro; daughter, Samantha Warr of Jonesboro; brother, Lynn Cary (Angie) of Hunter. He is also survived by numerous other family members, friends, and students. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Hunter Cemetery in Hunter, Arkansas with the active pallbearers being Mike Caskey, Randy Caskey, David Caskey, Charles Wolfe, Jerry Easley, and David Easley. The honorary pallbearers will be Robert Pratt, Henry Woodward, and Tommy Hay. The visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.
