Addie Louise Tarpley

Mrs. Addie Louise Calhoon Butler Tarpley, age 91, formerly of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born May 18, 1924 in Hope, Arkansas to Elmer Ray and Mary Audrey McClanahan Calhoon. Louise was a kind, loving woman with a sweet and gentle soul. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a love for life, and a deep faith in our Lord. She loved her family, friends, the outdoors, and had a spirit for adventure and travel. All who knew her loved her and she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Tarpley is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Audrey Calhoon; the father of her children, Otis Warren Butler; her second husband, Elbert Tarpley; one daughter, Patricia Butler Lach; one brother, Eurie Calhoon, and two sisters; Juanita "Skeeter" Evans and Willie "Crick" Evans. Survivors include: daughter, Pamela Yantis and her husband, Marshall, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and their children, Tracie Christian of Denton, Texas, Kimberly Williams of Highland Village, Texas, and Luke Yantis of Austin, Texas; daughter, Janet Green and her husband, Rick, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and their children, Misty Huneycutt of Hot Springs, Ark., Kerri Whitson of Hot Springs, Ark., and Matthew Green of Arkadelphia, Ark.; granddaughter, Kristen Formby Crittenden, of Texarkana, Texas, daughter of Patricia Lach; thirteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123, or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at 6520 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309-2132. Family visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Memorial service is 2 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Bro.
