LeRoy William Perkins, of Sheridan, Ark., was born June 8, 1933 in Hughes, Ark. He was an active member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Sheridan for over 46 years; had served in the United States Army during the Korean War; and was a retired hardware salesman for Orgill Brothers Hardware after 55 years of service, earning top salesman. Mr. Perkins was a true example of a Godly servant. He loved his family unconditionally and was very active in their lives. He was an avid fan of the Sheridan Yellowjackets, especially when his son, Mark was coaching and his grandson, Zach was playing. Mr. Perkins died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, best friend and love of his life for over 58 years, Henriella Gowen Perkins; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Nelodie Perkins; daughter, LeAnn Perkins, all of Sheridan; sisters-in-law, Libby and husband, Bob Lace, Chloe and husband, Powell Pogue; grandchildren: Kerri Harris and husband, Matt, Courtney Reed and husband, Phillip, Zach Perkins; great-grandchildren: Lawson and Landry Reed and Eli Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, customers and friends. A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Adkins and his daughter-in-law, Nelodie Perkins officiating.
