Jerry Clayton Carmichael

Jerry Clayton Carmichael, a resident of Springdale, Arkansas, was born June 28, 1940 in New Market, Iowa, a son of Bennie and Goldie (Richie) Carmichael. He departed this life Monday, February 2, 2015 in Fayetteville, at the age of 74 years. Jerry was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. He worked as an inspector in the electronics field and was a musician and former Post Commander of a VFW in Iowa. On September 8, 1992, Jerry was united in marriage with Cleora (Billington) Carmichael who survives him of the home. He is also survived by seven sons, Ben Carmichael, Sam Parker, Randy Parker, Dr. Joseph Parker, Wesley Cassady, James Cassady, and Stephen Cassady; three daughters, Lori Johnson, Heather Carmichael, and Rose Birdsong; one sister, Sherri and husband Jim Hicks of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother, Kelly Carmichael of Bella Vista, Ark.; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Goldie (Richie) Carmichael; one brother; one sister; and one infant brother. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berryville with Pastor Juan Freesi officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
