Joyce Marie Ford

Joyce Marie Ford, 63, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Joyce was born on April 4, 1952 in Fort Benning, Ga., a daughter of Johnie Claypool and Edith Sarratt Claypool. She was a graduate of Springdale High School. Joyce married Robert James Ford on Aug. 25, 1973 in Springdale. She attended the Bethany Nazarene College near Oklahoma City and received her Associates Degree in Fine Arts from the Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Mo. Joyce was very active in her life. She was the Lowell City Clerk for 12 years and recently retired from the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office in Jackson County, Mo. She was a member and active at the St. Peter's United Methodist Church where she was active in the Angel Tree network and church plays. She loved reading history and was a JFK enthusiast; enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts, sewing, including making baby blankets for others at her church; planning and decorating for the holidays and formal banquets for Bob's company. She liked to scrapbook and was currently working on the Ford Family Cookbook to be published. She is survived by her husband, Bob Ford of the home; her mother, Edith Seiter and husband, Herman of Bethel Heights, Ark.; one son, Shaun Ford and wife, Shannon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter, Laura Ford-Arunakul and husband, Pon of Portland, Ore.; brothers, John George Claypool and wife, Janie of Tontitown, Ark. and Steven Claypool and wife, Denise of Farmington, Ark.; two sisters, Diana Smith and Teresa Falk, both of Springdale; one brother-in-law, Christopher Ford and domestic partner, Loyd Staggs of Fayetteville, Ark.; three grandchildren: Kyle Ford, Logan Ford, and Sarunya Arunakul; along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Monday, July 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. Brother Steven Claypool will officiate the service with burial being held at the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
