Gordon "Bud" Simpson

Gordon "Bud" Simpson of Houston, Ark., born Aug. 23, 1928, died July 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Kelly & Lois Simpson, Edna & James Staples and his son Gordon James Simpson in 2003. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded in love by his wife Josie (Maycel) of 53 years and his daughter Martha Jean Hillis Wilson (Rick) of Little Rock. He is also survived by his daughter Debbie Lee Simpson of Ohio, his sisters Martha Crossley, Sally Sanchez, Ella Mostas, Ramona Field (Dick) and his brother Joseph Simpson (Dorothy). Gordon was an active member of the United Association of Pipe Fitters & Welders #798 of Tulsa, Okla. for 61 years. We are so grateful for the assistance of Gentiva Hospice Care (Nigel Sparks) Perry County Home Health (Judy Taylor) and brother in law Billy Lee who especially helped with Gordon's physical & emotional care. Throughout his life Gordon lived his Christian faith by his actions, abilities & desire to help others. His loving steady nature was a fixture of strength & comfort for friends and family. Visitation Monday from 6-7:30 and a Celebration of life on Tuesday, July 14, 10 a.m. at the Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Morrilton, Ark., with Fr. Richard Davis and Chaplain Ted Grove officiating. Burial will follow at May Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
