Jane Barclay of Oklahoma City joined her heavenly father on July 16th, 2015. She was currently living in Oklahoma City after moving from Amarillo, Texas in 2011. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas August 28th, 1935 and shortly thereafter moved to Farwell, Texas where she lived until she graduated from high school. She was the daughter of Lela Jane Nifong and Hamlin Yonge Overstreet. She graduated from Hockaday School for girls in Dallas where she served as President of her Senior Class. She studied at the University of Colorado, Boulder and the University of Texas. Shortly thereafter, she married her first husband Ernest Lokey. Jane was a 61-year member of the PEO Sisterhood. She belonged to many chapters as she moved around the United States including Clovis, New Mexico, Biloxi, Mississippi, New Orleans, Louisiana, Little Rock, Arkansas, Amarillo, Texas and her final Chapter CA of Oklahoma City. She held many positions throughout the years with PEO, as well as being very involved with the Arkansas Medical Auxiliary and being a very present homeroom mother for her four children. Jane's smile lit up the room wherever she was. She had a huge heart and always gave of herself to all of her loved ones. She was a voracious reader and could knock out any crossword puzzle. Jane had an adventurous streak and would always encourage her children to go after their dreams. She took flying lessons and was just shy of getting her pilot's license. She loved every minute of that adventure. Jane was a Texan through and through and loved the Longhorns. It was in New Orleans where she met her husband of 50 years, David L. Barclay, M.D. of Everett, Washington. They met on a blind date with friends and the rest was history! They moved to Little Rock in 1969 where they raised their four children. Jane worked as Office Manager for David's Medical practice where she did an excellent job of keeping things running smoothly and efficiently. For fun, they spent many hours fishing on Lake Ouchita and being with friends at their home in Palm Springs, California. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, David L. Barclay, her brother-in-law, Don Barclay, her parents Lela and Hamlin Overstreet, her aunt and uncle Harry and Frances Nifong and her in-law,s Glenn and Thelma Barclay. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Kim and Carlene Lokey of Hood River, Oregon; Allain and Tammy Lokey of Midwest City, Oklahoma; David L. Barclay Jr. and deAnna Barclay of Russellville, Arkansas; Janie Kinsinger of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren: Brian and Danielle Lokey of Houston, Texas, Ashley Lokey of Springdale, Arkansas, Paige Barclay of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Jacob and Joseph Kinsinger of Oklahoma City; three cousins and their spouses: Colette and Greg Rawdon of Mansfield, Texas, Megan and Jay Kramer of South Carolina, and Mark Overstreet of Washington, D.C.; and a niece and nephew Susan and Robert Barclay of California. There will be a private burial for the family in Farwell, Texas. Donations can be made in her memory to the Methodist Children's Home in Waco, Texas. Thank you to Mercy Hospital and Integris Hospice House who treated her during her last days with the most amazing care, dignity and respect. Her loving, dynamic personality will be greatly missed.
