Carl William Holt returned home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 23, 2015. He was born in Yanceyville, NC on January 12th, 1931. He is preceded by his mother and step-father, Peggy and Clifford Williams, his wife, Bonny Ruth Holt, and eldest son, Carl William Holt Jr. Carl was a hard working business man who had worked his way up to management retiring as general manager of Cintas Corporation. He had a passion for buying and selling cars, working on and restoring antique police cars, and helping all that he could to better themselves. He will always be remembered as an intelligent businessman, who worked hard, could drive a hard bargain, and who would do whatever he could whenever he could to help others. His passion for serving others was demonstrated by his service to the Springdale Auxiliary Police department, which he used his past law enforcement knowledge to help build up the program, retiring as Major. He was a veteran of the Korean war earning both a bronze star and a purple heart. Carl's passion for working on and restoring old cars and his love of law enforcement turned into a hobby of buying, restoring, and selling antique police cars. Carl is survived by his wife, Ann Holt, whom he married January 2004, who shared his love for travel and new experiences, and his son Russell Holt and his wife, Valerie Holt, and his daughter-in-law Gale Gage Holt. He is also survived by two step-daughters, six grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. The sound of his voice, his laughter, and his presence will be missed, but his memory will live on through the family he built and the friends that he helped. Funeral services will be Monday, July 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
