Funeral Service for Daniel Smith Jr., age 66, of Parkdale, Ark., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Parkdale, Ark., Rev. Jessie Knight, officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery, Parkdale. Service entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home and Staff, 137 Front Street, Eudora, Ark. Mr. Smith was born April 14, 1949 to the parents of Daniel Smith Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Smith. He attended schools in the Parkdale School District and spent most of his lifetime as a farm laborer. He enjoyed fishing with his longtime fishing buddy, Harold, and gathering with friends and family. Mr. Smith passed away at his home on Friday, July 24. He leaves as survivors: his wife, Juanita Smith of Parkdale; four sons, David Smith, Randy Earl Smith, Raymon Smith of Parkdale and Malcolm Smith of Eudora; four daughters, Jennifer Smith of Conway, Ark., Patricia Smith, Vellzee "Pinkie" Smith and Shardell L. Smith of Little Rock, Ark.; five sisters, Beatrice Campbell, Bernice Smith, Rebecca Smith of Parkdale; Maciel Miller of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Ellen Glass of California; three brothers, Dan Smith of Crossett, Ark., Leroy Smith of Memphis, Tenn. and Leon Watkins of Wilmot, Ark.; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
