Burldean Gibson, 77, of Pettigrew, Ark., passed from this life on May 29, 2015 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark. He was born Feb. 27, 1938 in Deer, Ark. to James and Ruth Seals Gibson. Burldean was a member of the New Home Church of Christ and a retired saw mill worker. He was also a talented woodcraftsman and was known by many for the wood carved Roosters he crafted from tree branches. He will always be remembered as a caring, loving husband and brother. Burldean was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Leon Gibson and Lonnie Gibson; and one sister, Hazel Gibson. Burldean is lovingly remembered by his wife, Peggy Bowling Gibson of the home; his stepchildren, Dewayne Shepherd and wife, Stephanie of Cave Springs, Ark. and Rhonda Evans and her husband, J.D. of War Eagle, Ark.; two brothers, Kenneth Gibson of Pettigrew, Ark. and Lester Gibson and his wife, Arletha of Witter, Ark.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 1 at the Dutton Cemetery with Minister Larry Johnson officiating under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home (www.brashearsfuneralhome.net) at Huntsville, Ark.
