EARL RAY "BUBBA" HARRIS, 69, of Little Rock, passed away on Feb. 21, 2015. He was born Feb. 6, 1946 to Earl Joseph Harris and Bonnie Vail Harris. Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant on the battlefields of Vietnam. He was a member of the Marines, Company A, First Battalion, Twenty-Sixth, Ninth Marine Amphibious Brigade. Earl was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals for his heroic efforts in the battles of Khe Sanh, Hue and Da Nang. He was cited and received a Leatherneck award for his sharpshooting abilities in the field and was responsible for saving many lives. It is said that he was the type of Marine that one often hears about but is rarely privileged to meet. He was truly a hero to his country and to all who served with him in battle. He was a pillar of strength for his family. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Earl Joseph Harris; sisters, Vivian Harris and Mary Farrah; wife, Faye Abbot Harris; stepson, Speedy Moore; and granddaughter, Leah Galley. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Harris; mother, Bonnie Riley; sisters, Margaret Zeigler, Linda Harris, Yetta Kelly and Sue Spears; brothers, Jesse Duane Harris, Mike Harris, Joe Harris and Dickey Harris; step-children, Esta Abbott and Justin Abbott; granddaughters, Taylon and Carma; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be Tuesday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Rev. Tony Minick.
