Helen Kelley Bates

HELEN KELLEY BATES, 82, of Maumelle, Ark., passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015. She was born in Jamestown, Ark. in 1932. The daughter of John C. Kelley and Lois Dishoungh Kelley, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and a graduate of the Baptist School of Nursing, she spent most of her life in Arkansas. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack S. Bates; her parents; her brother, Ben Kelley, of St. Louis, Mo.; and her best friend, Patsy Cooper. She is survived by her children, Stacy Bates of Des Moines, Iowa and Sandra Rock of Hillsborough, N.J.; her son-in-law, David Rock; three grandchildren: Amanda Brenner, Todd Rock and Alexandra Rock; six great-grandchildren, Donovan, Jake, Natalie, Christopher, Sullivan and Remy; her sisters, Julia Harmon of Batesville, Ark. and Mary Nash of Vanburen, Ark.; two brothers-in law, Mac Harmon and Paul Nash; and many, many friends. Services will be private. For those who would like to recognize her, as an avid animal lover and gardener, Helen would enjoy any donation in her name to those efforts.
