Edward L. Inskeep, from San Diego, Calif., died Feb. 28, 2015. He was born Dec. 17, 1934, to Leon and Irene Inskeep. He was proceeded in death by parents; sister, Jean Meeker; and brother-in-laws, Richard Meeker and Chuck Webb. He is survived by a sister, Nancy Webb of Springdale; nieces and nephews including Brandon (Carla Webb, Troy (Marlene) Webb, Karla (Brandon) Scott all of Springdale, Anna Sherry of Santa Barbara, Dave (Karen) Meeker, Jerry (Jackie) Meeker, Karen (Eugene) Wright and Trudi (Greg) Young and Helen (Jerry) Bibler all of Ohio. Ed Inskeep graduated from LaFayette Jackson High School, from Ohio State University with a BA and from UCLA with a MA in 1961. He spent his career working internationally as a consultant for the World Bank, United Nations Development Programme and World Tourism Organization. He advised developing countries on developing tourism as a means of economic development and employment. He traveled to most regions of the world including Asia, Pacific Islands, Middle East, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America, including places where he worked and those where he traveled as a tourist, he visited more than 100 countries. In later years he traveled with his sister, Nancy, to Europe. He wrote some books on his specialization including one book that is still in print and widely used as a reference. He also had published several journal articles and wrote and presented numerous seminar papers. He was adjunct lecturer at a university in the San Diego area for two years. He spent the last 25 years of his life living in La Jolla, Calif.. He was an active member in several museums in San Diego, exhibiting his collections of artifacts.
