Curtis Harrison, 82, of Russellville, Ark., passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville, Ark. The son of Audie "Ray" Harrison and Erma (McCarver) Harrison, he was born September 4, 1933 in Madison County, Ark. He was a United State Army veteran and served in Europe following World War II. He married Betty Lou Maggard on September 8th, 1956 and they were married for 15 years until her passing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son who successfully raised his three children and instilled in them the principles of hard work and the importance of family. He was a supervisor with Johnny Appleseed Orchards in Washington State for over 20 years and a member of the National Rifle Association and Republican Party. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, outdoorsman and gardener. He enjoyed bird hunting, raising his bird dogs, fishing, coaching his children's baseball team, woodworking and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Betty Lou Harrison; his parents; and three brothers, Eugene Harrison, Herman Harrison, Ray Harrison. Survivors include three children, Barbara Harrison Gibson of Tacoma, Wash., Dr. Rick Harrison and wife, Laura of Russellville and Bill Harrison and wife, Robin of Moses Lake, Wash.; grandchildren, Steven Parsons and wife, Megan, Tyler Gibson, both of Tacoma, Wash., Sarah Garlow and husband, Tim of Ft. Smith, Jennifer Loop and husband, Kory of Russellville, Justin Heroux of Las Vegas, Nev., Austin Harrison, Taylor Harrison, both of Moses Lake, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Alex Parsons of Tacoma, Wash., Anna Garlow, Ellen Garlow, Harrison Garlow, all of Ft. Smith, Ryder Loop, Harper Loop, both of Russellville; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Harrison of Okanogan, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 25th, 2015 at Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church in Wesley, Ark. Jim Duncan and John Napier will officiate. Burial will be at Drakes Creek Cemetery in Drakes Creek, Ark. by Humphrey Funeral Service. Military honors will be provided.
