Ms. Carol Lynn McConnell

Ms. Carol Lynn McConnell, 71, of Pineville, Mo., departed this life on Friday morning, Nov. 27, 2015 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. Carol entered this life on Sept. 25, 1944 in Larned, Kan., born to the union of the late Arlo Clarence and Marie (Hart) McCain. She was raised in Larned and was a 1962 graduate of Larned High School. She received her nursing certificate in 1964 from the Dominican School of Nursing in Great Bend, Kan. She resided in Kansas until moving to Pineville, Mo. in 1984. Carol was a devoted RN, a career that she greatly loved for over 45 years. She enjoyed reading and tending to the needs of others. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and James McCain. Carol is survived by her three children: Candi Vanhorn and Robert Halbasch of Kansas City, Mo., Steven Ellis and Amber Morel, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jana Beck and husband, Tommy of Pineville, Mo.; five grandchildren: Michael Mettling, Erin Mettling, Crue Kirkley, Devon Beck and Tyler Beck; one great-grandson, Julian Mettling; a brother, Robert McCain of Pineville, Mo.; as well as a host of other family and friends. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
