Curtis Connerly Hornor Jr.

Curtis Connerly Hornor, Jr., 92 of Springdale passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born August 22, 1923 in Chicot, Arkansas to Curtis Connerly Hornor Sr. and Mae Brooks Hornor. Curtis graduated from McGehee High School. He attended Arkansas Tech University and the University of Arkansas. He owned and operated Hornor Tire and Supply in Springdale. He then decided to start in Radio Advertising Sales at KBRS Radio. He worked there for 37 years while earning promotions to Sales Manager, General Manager and Vice President. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He had a passion for Archaeology and was a member of the Arkansas Archaeological Society. He was a former member of the Springdale Library Board, the Salvation Army Board, Kiwanis and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale. In his younger years he was active in Boy Scouts and youth sports teams. He was active with the Rodeo of the Ozarks. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Myers Hornor and second wife June Smith Hornor and one sister, Katherine Strickland. Survivors include one son, Curtis Hornor III and Jessica of Farmington; one daughter, Nancy Dugwyler and husband Steve of Siloam Springs; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Springdale with Rev. Judy VanHoose officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery.
