Richardson Milam Perdue

Richard Milam Perdue, 77, of Little Rock, died Saturday, October 17, 2015. He was born August 22, 1938 in Pine Bluff, son of Jack Armour Perdue Jr. and Elise Russell Perdue. Mr. Perdue was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1956. He earned his degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he pledged Sigma Chi, in 1960. After college, Mr. Perdue served in the United States Army. He returned to Pine Bluff, where he worked in the family business, The Perdue Company, Inc. Mr. Perdue was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff and attended Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. He enjoyed woodworking and volunteering at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock. Mr. Perdue was preceded in death by his son, Richard Milam Perdue Jr.; his parents; and brother, Jack Perdue, III. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Black Perdue, whom he married March 20, 1993 in Little Rock; daughter, Mary-Milam Cecil and her husband, Mark, of Little Rock; brother, David Perdue and his wife, Karen, of Pine Bluff; and granddaughter, Sarah Cecil of Little Rock. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Central Presbyterian Church with Reverend David King officiating.
