John P. Wydeveld, age 95, US Army WWII Veteran, Staff Sgt. serving in Europe in charge of a motor pool. Resided in Rogers and Bella Vista, Arkansas, formerly of Homewood & Blue Island, Ill. Born January 10, 1920 in the Netherlands to Joseph and Cornelia Wydeveld, he passed peacefully in his sleep August 29, 2015. Beloved husband of 31 years to Ruth Wydeveld nee Schweser; husband and companion of the late Lydia, the late Virginia and the late Zola. Loving father of Carol (Craig) Hill and Gary (Glenda) Wydeveld; proud grandfather of Adam Hill. Dear brother of the late Cornelius "Casey" (the late Lydia), late Louis "Red" (late Laverne), Ellen (late Claude) Turner, Harry (Karen), Cora (late Henry) Gerdez, Nellie (late Virgil) Harms. Uncle to 19 nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation Tuesday, September 8, 2015, 3-9 p.m., at the Vandenberg Funeral Home 17248 Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, Ill. 60477.
