Dalton Frank Vann

Dalton Frank Vann Sr., born May 31, 1930, passed from this world on Monday, April 4, 2016 after complications of illness. Raised in Oklahoma, he was a Navy veteran serving his two countries, the United States and the Cherokee Nation, from 1951 to 1954. He was the owner and operator of Zebra Striping, a pavement marking company during several decade of progressive growth for Northwest Arkansas. He was preceded in death by three sisters; two brothers and two step-sons. Survivors include his wife LaJoyce Vann who has been by his side in business and pleasure for 47 years; two sisters, Mary (Willard) Tackett and Carolyn Gibson of Oklahoma; two sons, Wyatt (Dona) Vann and Dalton Vann Jr. of Spokane, Washington; daughter, Kathy Gainey; step-daughter, Vicki Marsh of Gentry; daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith of South Carolina; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all staff at Arkansas Veterans Home at Fayetteville for their care and respect for Dalton in his final years. Visitation will be in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers from 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 8 and the Graveside Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.
