Geraldine Sutherlan, 90, of Springdale, Ark. passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Shiloh Nursing and Rehab. Geraldine was born on October 27, 1925 in Hindsville, Ark., a daughter of Lloyd Bohannon and Leona Pearl Sutton Bohannon. She married Verlin Sutherlan on April 26, 1941 who preceded her in death in 2004. Geraldine was a homemaker, who helped raised chickens and also had sold Avon. She was a dedicated member of the Gospel Tabernacle in Springdale, enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping and fishing. She is survived by two sons, Richard Sutherlan and wife Rebecca of Siloam Springs and Tommy Sutherlan and wife Rita of Springdale; two sisters, Betty Wheeler of Lowell and Zeldene Harbour of Springdale; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Evelyn Virginia Manning; one brother, Floyd Bohannon; and three sisters, Dorothy Silmon, Oma Lee Bates, and Eula May James. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. Pastor Bobby Main will officiate the service with burial being conducted at the Bluff Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
