Carl Sidney Lanier

Carl Sidney Lanier, 73, of Mabelvale, went to celebrate with his heavenly Father, Thursday, April 14, 2016. Born to Frank and Ruth (Tyra) Lanier, he was a retired District Manager for RT French Co. and retired Sales Manager for Mountain Pure Water. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lanier, and brother, Michael Lanier. Carl is survived by his loving wife, Janie, son, Keith (Tanya) of Hot Springs, and daughters Kim (Greg) Johnson and Kerri (Wayne) Post, both of Benton. Through marriage, Carl also leaves behind additional children, Melissa (Derek) Otwell of Midlothian, TX, Matthew (Kelly) Ridgeway of Jeddo, MI and Marc (Christina) Ridgeway of Virginia Beach, Va., mother, Ruth Lanier, sister, Wanda Bartlett, brother, Franklin Lanier, multiple grandchildren and many other special people who he considered "family". Growing up Carl excelled at the game of baseball and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved "piddling" on projects and took great pride in everything he accomplished, especially finding "treasures" while out shopping. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 17th at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North in Alexander. A celebration of his life will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday, April 18th with interment immediately following at Ironton Baptist Church Cemetery in Little Rock.
