Chong Ae Anderson, 69, of Springdale passed away at her home the morning of April 16, 2016 with family at her bedside. Her passing was due to respiratory failure brought on by breast cancer. She was born July 24, 1946 in Kimje, South Korea. Chong was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was strong and kind. She always put her family's needs first. She loved to cook and tend her vegetable garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyong Su Chang and Chong Sun Choe. Survived by loving husband of 39 years, Terry; children, Jesse (wife Roni), Kimberly (husband Toy Sysoukrath) and Jimmy (wife Chelsea); four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Zoe, Dean and Brandon Ray; two brothers and three sisters in South Korea and sister Mison Archer residing in Indianapolis, Ind. Chong married her military husband in Seoul, South Korea in 1977 and came with her husband and children to the United States to live in 1981. Chong was a housewife and babysat toddlers and babies in her free time. She then worked for Kawneer for 15 years before retiring in 2012. She spent her retirement years watching her Korean Soap Operas and Korean Historical Dramas on the television, playing Mahjong and Jigsaw puzzles on the computer and caring for her children and grandchildren. Memorial Gathering to celebrate her life will be held at Chong's residence in Springdale on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Chong's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org is preferred.
