Bernice Gates Adams

Bernice Gates Adams, age 95, of Warren, Ark., died Sunday April 24, at Chapel Woods in Warren, Ark. Born Feb. 9, 1921, in Gravelridge, Ark., a daughter of the late Willie Ted Gates and Mable Dailey Gates she was retired from Potlatch Corporation, member Banks Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Barney Adams who died Nov. 16, 1973. They were united in marriage Dec. 19, 1944. Also preceding her in death were brothers: Alva Gates, Jimmy Gates, Ernie Gates, Willie Gates; sisters Ethel Johnson, Marie Osborn, Evelyn McMurry. Survivors are two sons Danny Adams, Banks, Ark., Bobby Adams, Sheridan, Ark.; two daughters Glenda Adams, Hermitage, Ark., Susan Adams Hall, Rayville, La.; one sister Noma Kitchens, Banks, Ark.; 10 gandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, Frazer's Chapel. Burial McFarland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday April 26, at Frazer's.
