Terry Don Vaught, 99, of Perryville passed away on August 4, 2016. He was the son of the late Claude Davis Vaught and Virgie Clayton Vaught. He was a member of the "Greatest Generation", raised in Houston (Perry County) Arkansas, born during World War I, came of age in the depression and served in The U.S. Navy in World War II. He fought in and survived the last great battle of the Pacific War at Okinawa. A lifelong Democrat, he loved to take political candidates around Perry County and introduce them to his friends during campaign season. He was the Arkansas general manager for the Hoover Appliance Company for many years until his retirement. A man of great faith he was a former music director and deacon in several churches. He remained a faithful member of the Houston Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife and mother of his children, Leoma Avants Vaught; his wife, Jaunita Bacchus Vaught; two of his brothers, DeWitt Vaught and Guy Paul Vaught; and one grandson, Michael Carlo Bonilla. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Chitwood Vaught of Perryville; his daughter, Linda Vaught Bonilla of Atlanta, Georgia; his son Judge Larry Vaught (Shelia) of Little Rock; his grandchildren Sherry Vaught Kuebler (Len) of North Little Rock, Ashley Vaught Dixon (Heath) of Seattle Washington; his great-grandchildren Andrew Kuebler, Lenzy Kuebler, Frank Dixon, and Eleanor Dixon; his sister Evelyn Garrett (Al) of Perryville; his brothers, Leon Vaught (Lee) of Houston, Norman Vaught (Pat) of Little Rock, and Bobby Vaught (Joyce) of Perryville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, August 8 at 2 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton.
