Harold D. (Dick) Smith, 82, passed away Thursday August 4, 2016 in Arlington, Texas.Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Dick was born in Russellville, Arkansas August 31, 1933 to Arvie and Ilah Mae Smith. He served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Monk October 12, 1952. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and later earned a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dick retired from the United States Environmental Protection Agency after many years of service. Survivors: beloved wife, Carolyn Smith; son, Scot Smith and his wife, Diana; granddaughter, Carie Crumpton and her husband, Tim; grandson, Jeremy Smith and his Fiancee, Alexandra; and great-granddaughter, Nora Crumpton.
